DLBP welcomes Latemia Richards to US team

DLBP is very pleased to welcome Latemia Richards to the US team!

Latemia is from Miami, Florida. She is a two time Florida State University Alumni (Go Noles!) and a Tallahassee Community College Alumni. In August 2020, she received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminology with a minor in Computer Science. Then, in May 2023, she graduated with Joint Master’s of Science degrees in Urban and Regional Planning and International Affairs.

Her concentrations are Public Health and Administration and Project Planning for Less Developed Areas. After graduation, she completed an internship with Stearns Weaver Miller in Tallahassee, Florida. At this internship, she researched local government zoning data to support strategies for implementing the Florida Live Local Act, worked with GIS Analysts on several projects that included data management, and prepared findings for local governments to support coastal resiliency, climate adaptation, and sea level rise modeling within their communities.

Latemia joined DLBP to learn about private sector consulting that specializes in creating vibrant and resilient communities. Her role at DLBP includes preparing pre-application submissions, planning statements, and rezoning documents for technical consultants, architects, clients, local government, and the consultant team. Additionally, she will negotiate and advise necessary amendments to rezoning applications based on consultee comments and responses from local neighbors.

Latemia is excited to be apart of the DLBP team and looks forward to partake in the various planning projects that DLBP participates in.

For her pastime, she enjoys playing video games, watching TV shows, traveling abroad, trying out new activities, and spending time with family and friends.
