Harriet holds an MPlan in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Sheffield.
Before joining DLBP, Harriet worked as a planning officer within the development control team for the London Borough of Newham. She has experience of managing borough wide improvement projects, determining major and minor applications, and presenting applications at strategic committees.
She has worked on larger scale developments comprised of a mixture of residential developments, mixed use schemes with community facilities, and commercial development. She also worked on granting temporary planning consent for a concrete batching site which was a contentious major application that was determined at a Strategic Development Committee. She has also worked closely with developers at pre-app and application stage on a residential scheme in Forest Gate that delivered high quality family housing for the borough.
Harriet is especially interested in planning issues regarding regeneration, heritage, and conservation. Her MPlan thesis focused on successful regeneration of historic industrial buildings. She particularly excels at engaging with local communities at public consultation events.
