Andrew has a first-class degree in medical sciences and in social and political sciences from Cambridge University, and an MA in consulting to groups from the Tavistock Centre. Andrew is also an academician with the Academy of Urbanism.
Andrew is a highly experienced planner and development manager who has particular expertise in devising and delivering strategies for large and complex mixed use developments to create value and successfully steer the proposal through the planning system. He can manage and inspire multi-disciplinary teams. He is superb at communication, whether in understanding client objectives, or in building relationships with decision-makers and local communities.
Andrew joined DLBP in 2015. He has delivered a range of planning consents including 121,000 sq ft of retail space in Milton Keynes and a 40,000 sq ft nursing home in Ascot. Andrew led the planning team for Kent Science Park, a development with 1,000,000 sq ft of commercial space and 400 new homes. He is currently working on major mixed use, residential-led development schemes in Chichester, Sussex, Norwich, South Gloucestershire and Chelmsford, totalling 6,000 homes, as well as a range of elderly care and healthcare projects.
Andrew was previously planning and regeneration director of South West London & St George’s NHS Trust, responsible for securing planning permission for 839 homes and a 25,000 sq metre (270,000 sq ft) healthcare facility in a major mixed use development at Springfield Hospital in Wandsworth, which is now on site. Prior to that, he worked as a management consultant.
